Atom Gives Their Community What They Want

AtomFilms Yesterday premiered the first community-selected 360-degree short film "Coming of Age" by Joe Riley.

Atom provided its community of over 1.5 million registered users the opportunity to select the 360-degree immersive film with its initiative, 360-Degrees Forward, which launched in May 2000 at the Cannes Film Festival.

AtomFilms partnered with Be Here in the creation of this short film, through the use of their 360-degree iVideo technology, and with major technology companies such as Intel, Real Networks and Sony as sponsors

According to company officials this initiative allows AtomFilms to continues breaking the barriers of traditional entertainment by enabling audiences to navigate through the film from their PC, viewing something different every time they watch the short.

AtomFilms, Be Here, Intel and award-winning filmmaker Amy Talkington teamed up to create the world's first 360-degree immersive short film, The New Arrival, which debuted at this year's Cannes Film Festival. Coinciding with the premiere, Atom put out a call for submissions, offering registered Insiders an opportunity to submit treatments for the next 360-degree production.
