How long will this burn take to heal?

January 9th, 2009
  • About 5 months ago, I got burned by a pressurized air duster (the thing you use to clean in between the keys on a keyboard). It has a liquid nitrogen type thing in the bottom of the can. I have been applying Mederma for burns everyday and it is still discolored where I got burned. How long will it take to heal?

  • Okay if it was 5 months ago, it should be healed. Burns do not take 5 months to heal unless they are very severe-- as in, require hospitalization and skin grafts kind of severe-- or unless it's badly, badly infected (if it were, you would know. Since you didn't mention it being infected, I'm going to assume it's not).
So, going by those facts, you do not have a healing burn. You have a scar. 2 completely different things.
Scars do not heal. They are permanent. The color fades with time. Mederma is a scar cream and will help speed up the fading process but burn scars stay colored for about 8-12 months without intervention, so say 6-10 months with the mederma.
The scar will still be there, it will just be pale, white, or a faint pink and not as noticeable.

  • that wasnt smart..

and it will prolly scar and stay that way for along time
